My name is Courtney Rose and I’m the owner and head trainer of Roses & Rovers Canine Consulting. I’m a rewards-based Professional Dog Trainer in Johnson City, TN and the surrounding East TN and SW Virginia areas. I use my professional experience alongside my education to guide my understanding of how dogs function in the modern world. I do not use force, intimidation, pain, threats or coercion in any of my training protocols. This means that I do not use aversive methods (such as prong collars, e-collars, citronella, leash corrections, etc.) in my training protocols, but instead use a force-free approach to training.

I believe that all dogs have the right to exist in their natural states of mind and behavior. And I believe that dogs are not robots for humans to program, but rather canine partners with their own thoughts, feelings and desires. Because of that, I structure my training protocols with your dog’s success in mind.

I am committed to the highest standards of the industry and work toward those goals with each client. I believe it is imperative to be transparent and honest when discussing behavior modification + training protocols for each client’s individual needs. I am here to support my clients in all aspects of their training journey. I believe there is always room for improvement and as such, I am committed to continuing to learn as reliable information is presented to the industry and to accommodate my methods as ethically as I can.
