Trainer Profile: Janelle G. Blomquist
I approach every dog and person as an individual-- providing thoughtful, compassionate, practical, and science-based training and behavior modification. I encourage building trust with your dog, keeping training fun, and celebrating small victories. I'm also a Fear Free Certified Trainer and apply this approach and philosophy to all training situations. Muzzle training and cooperative care are some of my favorite things to train.
Most of my work has been with rescue dogs. I've worked in animal welfare, in a shelter setting, since 2013. This experience has given me the priceless opportunity to work with *literally* thousands of dogs and cats. They come from a variety of backgrounds, in all ages, breeds, shapes, and sizes, with a wide range of behavior and medical issues. Many of the animals I've worked with come from cruelty or hoarding cases. Working hands-on with so many different dogs in a stressful shelter environment has been an invaluable and on-going learning experience for which I am very grateful.
I'm currently offering in-home private training in the North Georgia/Metro Atlanta area through Alan's K9 Academy. Please mention Janelle when requesting an initial assessment.
