I approach every dog and person as an individual-- providing thoughtful, compassionate, practical, and science-based training and behavior modification. I encourage building trust with your dog, keeping training fun, and celebrating small victories. Muzzle training and cooperative care are some of my favorite things to train. I enjoy working with reactive and fearful dogs.

Most of my work has been with rescue dogs. I've worked professionally in animal welfare, in a shelter setting, for 10 years. This experience has given me the priceless opportunity to work with *literally* thousands of dogs and cats. They come from a variety of backgrounds, in all ages, breeds, shapes, and sizes, with a wide range of behavior and medical issues. Many of the animals I've worked with come from cruelty or hoarding cases. Working hands-on with so many different dogs in a stressful shelter environment has been an invaluable learning experience for which I am very grateful.
