Vivian Zottola, MSc is an applied anthrozoologist, dog psychologist and behavior modification training specialist. She runs a private behavior modification training practice near Boston, MA assisting dog guardians with the prevention and resolution of relationship conflicts. Vivian provides a range of services from in home puppy training to improving reactivity, fear, aggression and separation anxiety in all dogs.

In addition to working with a limited clientele, Vivian is a subject matter expert and research associate for the non profit Center for Canine Behavior Studies, Inc., produces a podcast, is an author and freelance writer.

RESEARCH: Vivian volunteers her time unpaid as a subject matter expert and research associate for the Center for Canine Behavior Studies a non profit organization (www.dogstudies.org). She has coauthored four peer reviewed scientific papers with CCBS colleagues. Study topics range from puppy training, aggression in dogs and rescue dogs and the papers have been published in esteemed journals including Animals and Journal of Veterinary Behavior.

Be BiteSmart: is an animal educational initiative of the Center for Canine Behavior Studies. Vivian and Dr. Dodman developed the first lesson and characters in this animated video “Paws to Prevent”. All animated video lessons are free for public consumption and designed for children between 3-5 years and their parents to learn about dog stress signals so to reduce the risk of bites.
