Description

In this lecture we will define what it means to be a "person-centered" dog trainer and why focusing on the human side of the leash is important. Discuss the emotional and mental health impacts or client living with and training a challenging dog. Learn how to empower dog guardians to use their inherent an environmental strengths to create more success in training. Define parallels between dog training and counseling professions. Learn how to recognize sources and warning signs of burnout. We will examine the impacts of trainer burnout on client relationships and training outcomes.
