Forage & Field Dogs: Finding morel mushrooms with your dog At Positive Gun Dogs MN, we are the first to pioneer Morel Mushroom Dog Training, and we’ve been refining this program for over three years. Unlike traditional nose work classes, which focus on controlled environments, this course is designed to train dogs for real outdoor conditions, where Morel mushrooms naturally grow. Morels are tricky to find—their scent changes with weather, soil, and age. We’ve spent years perfecting field-based scent training techniques to teach dogs how to track and locate these mushrooms in the wild.
