The Canine Foundations Training Academy offers a comprehensive virtual program designed to prepare students for the CCPDT Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) exam, providing them with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to become certified dog trainers grounded in science-based, humane practices. This flexible program accommodates working professionals, combining virtual learning with practical experience in both group and private settings. Key Learning Areas: Students will gain expertise in canine ethology, learning theory, training techniques, client communication, and emergency first aid. The program emphasizes adherence to the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Averse) principles and the CCPDT Humane Hierarchy, ensuring that students always prioritize the welfare and well-being of their clients. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, students will develop skills to use the least intrusive, least aversive methods for behaviour modification, maintaining a humane and ethical approach to training. Program Structure: • Duration: 10 months (with an optional 2-year completion plan) • Schedule: Initial 2 weeks of full-time classes, followed by monthly weekend webinars and flexible practical training hours. • Support: Personalized mentorship, IT support, and access to a referral placement service for practical experience. By the end of the course, students will be fully prepared to pass the CCPDT exam, uphold the highest standards in ethical dog training, and confidently adhere to the LIMA principles and Humane Hierarchy in their professional practice.
