Description
Training the Crisis Response Dog: A Comprehensive Training Program for Certified Dog Trainers Course Description: This 40-hour course is designed specifically for certified dog trainers looking to expand their expertise and play a vital role in preparing K9 teams for Animal-Assisted Crisis Response (AACR) work. Over the course of five weeks, participants will learn how to train therapy dog teams to transition into crisis response roles, where they can provide critical emotional support to civilians and responders during disasters and high-stress events. Combining Zoom lectures, online readings, and video-based skill demonstrations, this course ensures trainers acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical application to prepare teams for real-world crisis scenarios. The program also emphasizes safety, effectiveness, and the advanced training necessary to meet the high standards of AACR work. Participants will earn CEUs while developing new, in-demand services to offer therapy dog guardians, creating an additional income stream.
