Description

Lecture and Hands-On Lab being presented to both veterinary professionals and training professionals. Lecture: -Canine and feline body language -Fear Free handling techniques (considerate approach, gentle control, touch gradient) will be demoed and practiced during the lab as well -Environmental Considerations -Kennel environments (how to set them up for patient comfort) -Sedation techniques and tools (muzzles, cone collars, towels, leash handling) will be demoed and practiced during the lab as well. -Pre-visit Pharmaceuticals -Food distraction techniques -Modification techniques for barrier frustration Hands-On Lab: -Drive-by sedation technique -Sedation with other distraction techniques -Cat sedation in kennel -How to place on a muzzle, cone collar, neck roll for sedation/procedure -Slip-lead leash safety to kennel a dog -Retrieval from a kennel, cat and dog (will use an empty kennel if available)
