Description

Trainers and owners are collaborators in their dog training efforts. As such, trainers must possess powerful skills to engage owners in the training; to educate owners; to normalize behaviors and to teach owners methods and mechanics in training. Dog trainers also need to effectively manager client expectations. Clear, empathetic spoken and written communication is critical to dog trainers’ credibility and professional image. This webinar helps trainers hone their communication skills. We will focus on active listening and clear speaking with owners. We will improve trainers’ skills in communicating with clarity and empathy- especially in difficult situations. We will cover ideas for normalization of behaviors. We will also cover the fundamentals of good written communication: timing and writing of notes and training plans and effective email communication with clients. Client have finite amounts of time and energy. *Active listening * How to engage clients in the process when they’re more interested in outcomes. Improve clarity, compassion and education in speaking. Trainers have to give detailed information in a short amount of time. *Communicating accurately and appropriately in a variety of situations. *Effective scripts for normalizing behavior, management and training scenarios. *Developing effective nonverbal communication, including body language and voice.
