Description
"Blank, clear or negative space are all terms used in scent work to describe an area without source target odor present. These searches continue to be a worry for competitors, especially for novel teams learning how to clear areas confidently. The human mind tends to overthink, and handlers start to doubt, overhandle (“check this”), often call a “desperation alert”, and/or leave the search area frustrated. So how can we determine whether our dog is telling us there is odor present or not? And what should we do as handlers to support our dogs? In this webinar, Silke will review dogs’ behavior sequences and search area set-ups, discuss handler and dog expectations, offer training suggestions, and much more so you can learn to embrace the blank."
