Description

Reactivity has become one of the most prevalent and challenging behaviors for dog owners and behaviorists alike. This seminar is appropriate for committed pet parents, behaviorists who have hit a plateau in working with a reactive dog, and anyone who experiences reactivity in a shelter, boarding, or day care environment. We will begin with a 3-hour lecture on Friday evening to lay the groundwork for two productive working days. Friday night will include covering what a reactive dog ‘looks’ like along with learning theory, stages of learning, analysis of the critical contingencies that determine best option (manage, manage & modify, re-home, or euthanize) and those same contingencies that also help to determine the success of training and behavior modification.
