All too often when training our dogs, we apply a rather rigid approach. "When I want my do to do X, I will do Y no matter what." Unfortunately, doing so sets ourselves and our dog up for failure. Our dog's needs are constantly in flux. What works in one instance may not work at all another. The space we are training in will offer varying considerations and factors, each of which can derail a training session if we are not careful.
