Description
The Instructor program is an in-depth educational program designed to enhance the nose work class experience for both the dog and human student. K9 Nose Work® is for those wanting to share the fun and success of K9 Nose Work® for dogs of all shapes, sizes, needs and skills. COURSE OUTLINE: The 8-day instructor course, which is now offered on-line only, takes place in two, four-day segments. The segments are typically separated by a minimum of three months to allow time for application of the concepts in teaching. Each day of the course will include a slide presentation along with lecture, video samples, discussion groups, break-out groups, and participation via audio/camera of all students. There will also be a Google classroom where students will review videos, work through assignments, and communicate with other course participants. Daily homework may include video review, short essays, or quizzes. All eight days must be attended in full for completion of the course work. Some students may join a day of another course if there are extenuating circumstances that prevent completion of the registered course. There will be a mid-term exam after segment one, and a final exam following segment two. Both are open-book on-line exams which are available for a couple of weeks following the end of the segment. Each day of the course will cover a specific topic. The topics of each segment usually appear in the order listed but may carry over from day to day or have variation based on location or other time restrictions. Following is a general description of the course day topics.
