Description

This webinar will introduce some of the key cognitive processes taking place in the canine brain and provide an introduction to some of the brain regions and psychological mechanisms involved in their function. Learn about how the dog's brain perceives information through different sensory systems, what is attention and why it matters, cognitive processes involved in memory encoding and recall, and what influences a dog's decision making. Finally, Daniel will explore how these cognitive mechanisms interact with the environment, and consider how the presence of environmental stressors such as poor welfare or aversive training methods may impact these processes (for better or for worse).
