Description
We often think about how we can change a dog's negative emotions, but we also need to consider the strategies we teach our dogs for coping with negative emotions when they do inevitably do occur. This presentation explores what emotional regulation means from a neuroscientific perspective. Daniel will examine the different levels of processing involved in emotional regulation and behaviour change, considering behavioural, cognitive, and metacognitive approaches to changing behaviour. Daniel will finally provide an overview of how we can apply this understanding to promote healthy emotional regulation in dogs.
