Description
For shelters and rescues, finding homes for pets is already hard enough, but finding homes for pets with behavior problems such as leash reactivity, fear, anxiety, or poor social skills can be even harder. Sometimes we work really hard with a behaviorally challenged pet and are thrilled when they go home, only to be disappointed, frustrated or even angry when they come back. In rescue, it’s critical that we realize the magnitude of how adopters of marginal pets are impacted emotionally, physically and financially. Here, we will discuss these realities, options for success and ways to best support the new home.
