Description
Dogs can be born blind, but they can also lose vision due to diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, glaucoma, progressive retinal atrophy, macular degeneration, and suddenly acquired retinal degeneration (also known as SARDS). If you have a dog who has lost their sight or is already visually impaired, you don't have to go it alone. Join us as we host UK Dog Trainer and Award Winning Blind Dog Specialist Eve Welton, IMDT and learn how to make your dog's life easier navigate, equipment that can help (and what to avoid), how to re-train what your dog already knows if your dog has lost their sight, enrichment that's helpful for blind dogs, basic training tips, and how to navigate the scary outdoors. This is a specialized area, so even though the webinar is aimed at pet dog families, it's useful for any professional dog trainer, too! How can you set your dog's life up to be easier and more empowered? What's getting in their way? What are some specific challenges to living with a blind or visually impaired dog and how can training help? Even if your dog is fully sighted, this information could be useful to know now, to plan ahead. What are the different types of visual impairment for dogs?
