Description

Executive function refers to the ability of animals to regulate their behavior. It includes skills such as impulse control, emotional regulation, and focus. Poor executive function skills have been linked to behavior issues in both people and dogs. Previous Research Bites webinars have discussed what executive function is and how it develops. This webinar will give a brief overview of executive function and then discuss research on how to measure executive function in dogs. Come away from this webinar with new ideas for how to assess impulse control, frustration tolerance, hyperactivity and impulsivity in dogs!
