Description
Owner Directed Aggression “I spoil him with treats, and toys, and snuggles! But why does he still bite me?!” Owner directed aggression cases can be fraught with difficulty as the human-animal bond can often be fractured. Management can also be complicated due to the necessary handling for day to day care of the dog, which can often be a catalyst for aggressive behavior. After all, we can’t just completely separate the dog from their owner! Michael Shikashio CDBC will highlight the necessary considerations for proper assessment in these scenarios. He will also discuss the safety and management strategies, as well as the behavior change principles for successful resolutions in owner directed aggression cases.
