Description
This recorded webinar will help staff/volunteers in shelters and rescues learn how to identify and evaluate potential working dog candidates. As you know, these dogs require a lot of enrichment and stimulation, and sometimes that is difficult to make time for in a shelter setting. And in addition, many of these types of dogs do not make good pets, and are often returned (sometimes more than once!) because they are too high energy and high drive for their adoptive families. The goal of this presentation is to give those working with these canines the tools they need to see if they have the natural characteristics of a potential detection/search dog, in the hopes that they will minimize their shelter stay and find their hopeful career sooner.
