Description
how trainers and behavior consultants can continue to provide behavioral support in cases that are medically driven. The goal is to empower professionals to approach medical cases with flexible solutions that mitigate the stress of illness for both the client and the patient without crossing professional boundaries. Topics will include navigating food reinforcement within prescription diet restrictions, accommodating abnormal toileting needs in ways that encourage client adherence, and an introduction to functional behaviors for use in cooperative care. I think we often divide case concerns into medical versus behavioral, but there are significant opportunities for trainers/consultants to build their behavior practice by supporting medical case clients.
