Description
Doggie And Me is the combination of a tablet app for dogs, and a website for humans. Dogs can use a tablet (and a Pet Tutor bluetooth treat dispenser) to play special "video games", receiving a treat each time they interact correctly with the app. People (trainers and/or owners) can use the website to customize or even write new games, using a simple but powerful programming language. This language is adapted from a system which teaches children how to program, so beginners can use it too! In this talk, I'll describe how to use the app to play existing games with your dogs, and then show the basics of how to begin making your own games using the website. Finally, I'll try to answer questions on how you might make specific games and/or take feature requests for the apps. No programming knowledge is required. Objective - How the Doggie and Me app - using a Pet Tutor and tablet/smartphone (iOS or Android) - allows dogs to play video games - Set-up tips: How to get the dogs started interacting with the tablets, logistical issues to watch out for (like drool on tablets) - How to customize and make new games for the app - How to upload new or customized games to the app
