Description
This session will focus on overcoming training preconceptions linked to the term ""alpha"" and how to lead clients towards true understanding of their dog and their relationship with it. It's a rare client these days who doesn't bring up the term ""alpha"" in a consultation or training session. But, as we know, talking about who is ""alpha"" in a human/dog relationship is simplistic, and can lead to inappropriate behavior modification techniques or training. In this session, we will how to overcome preconceptions with regard to the structure desirable in a dog/human relationship, and practical ways to help clients get beyond it feeling judged. We'll also discuss its use and misuse in multiple dog households and in play groups or dog parks.
